Job Description

Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of both inbound receiving and outbound shipping departments. This role ensures all incoming shipments are received, inspected, and processed accurately while all outbound orders are picked, packed, and shipped on time. The Warehouse Supervisor leads and develops team members, maintains compliance with safety and quality standards, and collaborates with internal departments to ensure efficient, cost-effective warehouse operations that support inventory accuracy and exceptional customer service.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inbound Operations:

    • Supervise and coordinate the receiving of incoming shipments to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timely processing.

    • Verify and maintain accurate records of all incoming goods; communicate and resolve discrepancies with Inventory Control and Purchasing.

    • Conduct regular audits of inbound processes to ensure compliance with company procedures and inventory accuracy.

  • Outbound Operations:

    • Oversee daily shipping activities to ensure orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on schedule.

    • Maintain and monitor shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), manifests, and tracking records.

    • Troubleshoot and resolve order issues, delays, or errors promptly to meet customer expectations.

  • Team Leadership:

    • Lead, train, mentor, and coach warehouse associates to ensure proper procedures, productivity, and safety standards are met.

    • Plan labor resources, assign tasks, and monitor workflow to meet operational goals for both inbound and outbound shifts.

    • Conduct performance evaluations and develop team capabilities.

  • Operational Efficiency:

    • Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) and related tools to track, record, and manage all inbound and outbound activities.

    • Partner with Transportation, Customer Service, and other departments to coordinate schedules and improve processes.

    • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

    • Ensure proper use and maintenance of all warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and scanners.

  • Safety & Compliance:

    • Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with company policies and OSHA regulations.

    • Enforce established safety standards, proper lifting techniques, and use of protective equipment.

    • Ensure all warehouse activities meet company quality standards and customer requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.

  • Strong understanding of inventory management, shipping/receiving processes, and logistics best practices.

  • Proficiency in WMS, ERP systems, scanning equipment, and shipping software.

  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills with ability to motivate and develop a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to spend prolonged periods at a desk and computer and occasionally stand or walk throughout the warehouse. The employee must occasionally lift, pull, and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role is based on-site at a warehouse facility. The noise level is generally low to moderate, depending on operational activity. The expectation is that work is performed on-site unless specific circumstances require remote work.
