Job Description

Location: We are seeking a Speech Pathologist that can cover the Lincoln King District. This would include Adams Young Elementary and Lincoln King Academy (they are one block away from each other) and Adams Young Middle School (an additional 8-10 minute drive). 

*Perfect for a candidate that likes to move across the district and get to know our culture as a whole and prefers not to be secluded to one spot everyday/ week.

TITLE:  Speech and Language Pathologist

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate K-12 Speech Pathologist to join our team for the Lincoln King Adams Young district. The ideal candidate will provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech and language disorders for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The Speech Pathologist will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure that students achieve their speech and language goals in an inclusive educational environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' speech and language abilities, using standardized tests and observational methods. 
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with identified speech and language disorders. 
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, including individual and group sessions focused on improving articulation, fluency, language comprehension, and social communication skills.
  • Monitor student progress regularly and adjust therapy techniques and goals as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom and home environments. 
  • Provide training and support to teachers and staff on speech and language development, accommodations, and strategies for supporting students with communication difficulties. 
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, therapy sessions, and student progress in compliance with district policies and state regulations. 
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, IEP meetings, and school committees as required. 
  • Stay current with best practices, research, and trends in speech-language pathology and relevant educational practices. 
  • Advocate for students' communication needs within the school and broader community.

HERE’S WHY WE’LL LOVE YOU

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. 
  • Valid state licensure and certification (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility for certification. 
  • Experience working with K-12 students preferred. 
  • Strong understanding of speech and language development, assessment, and intervention strategies. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and staff. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students and families from diverse backgrounds. 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Commitment to professional development and ongoing learning.
